Go West Young Man, Go West

Seems like I've used that title before????? Oh well, way too busy to check right now.

I'm in the process of packing the truck for a trip to Cary. Once there I'll be attending my first CITO with my grandson. Not really looking forward to picking up trash on an 85 degree day, but am looking forward to placing faces to some of the names of fellow cachers.

The event is the Harris Lake 10th Anniversary CITO. I know very little about the area, but the little bit of research I've done shows there are more than a few caches around. Doubt there will be a whole lot of time for geocaching, but it will provide the opportunity to get a little first hand knowledge should we decide to do them later.

Last night a new cache popped up just after we had settled in for the evening. Even then I thought about heading out for it, but the cache description pointed out that the first portion of the multi involved locating markers in a local cemetery so please only do the cache during daylight hours. Well, you didn't need to twist my arm any further and off to the recliner I headed.

This morning I downloaded the data and headed to Wanchese to find it. I REALLY figured to see other cachers looking when I pulled in, or at the very least to see an FTF when I opened the log book. To my amazement the place was empty and so was the log book.

Today's FTF:
1. Cudworth Cemetery

  1. Another FTF! You are on a roll!

And the CITO event is a good way to give back, meet some people and do some caching after!
